Guy Thompson leads The Johnstown Estate with a focus on exceptional guest experiences and seamless operations. With extensive experience in hospitality management, he combines strategic oversight with a personal touch, ensuring every aspect of the estate – from events to spa services – runs smoothly. Passionate about creating memorable moments for visitors, Guy brings dedication, expertise, and a warm welcome to every guest.

Ioana Budai supports the smooth running of The Johnstown Estate with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence. She works closely with the team to oversee operations, ensuring guests enjoy seamless experiences across the estate’s hospitality and spa offerings. Known for her collaborative approach and dedication to service, Ioana brings professionalism, energy, and a warm presence to every guest interaction.

Raghu Vallamkonda ensures that everything is in its place financially – which is no mean feat with a hotel the size of The Johnstown Estate and Trim Castle Hotel.  His stewardship of the hotel’s finances allows him to manage the finances around big refurbishment projects like The Spa at The Johnstown Estate, alongside the continuous investment in the maintenance and upkeep of the hotel.

Raghu has an MBA, specialising in Finance and HR, and has worked in several premium and luxury brand hotels in Ireland throughout his career.

Tommy Butler leads the culinary team at The Johnstown Estate, bringing creativity, precision, and a passion for exceptional dining to every menu. As Executive Chef, he oversees the estate’s kitchens, curating seasonal dishes that showcase quality ingredients and thoughtful presentation. With a focus on flavour, innovation, and consistency, Tommy works closely with his team to deliver memorable dining experiences that reflect the estate’s commitment to excellence.

Tania Dunne leads the sales team at The Johnstown Estate, driving strategy, client relationships, and business growth. With extensive experience in hospitality sales and a focus on delivering exceptional service, she ensures that every partnership and booking reflects the estate’s high standards. Tania is known for her strategic insight, strong communication skills, and collaborative approach, helping to create seamless and memorable guest experiences.

Jason Dunne ensures the smooth day-to-day operations of The Johnstown Estate, overseeing facilities, guest services, and team coordination. With a hands-on approach and a focus on efficiency, he works behind the scenes to make every visit seamless and enjoyable. Known for his problem-solving skills and dedication to service, Jason brings reliability, expertise, and a friendly presence to the estate.

Like our Spa, our Director of Spa  is award-winning and was recognised as Spa Manager of the Year by the 2017 Irish Hotel Awards.  Dara is devoted to creating the ultimate guest experience and has worked closely with the team at The Spa to ensure that every individual guest experience is the peaceful journey which was hoped for.

Dara’s education spans computing, beauty and psychology and she likes to spend any free time she has with her friends and family.  Dara’s unshakeably calm disposition and overall approach to life may be somewhat attributable to the energy and self-care workshops she regularly attends.

Tonya Murphy leads People & Culture at The Johnstown Estate, fostering a positive, collaborative, and engaging workplace. She champions staff development, wellbeing, and organisational growth, ensuring the team thrives while delivering exceptional guest experiences. Known for her empathetic approach and strong leadership, Tonya brings dedication, warmth, and a people-first mindset to every aspect of the estate.
