Our 1,300sqm leisure club is an entity in itself.
The 20m pool is a something for all guests, from little children enjoying the individual kiddies’ pool, to serious lane-swimmers, to loungers who just want to loll in the jacuzzi. Outdoors is a Canadian Hot-tub which everyone loves, no matter the weather. The hot-tub is surrounded by an outdoor lounging area for those long sunny, summer days.
An adjacent green is the setting for outdoor classes. It is overlooked by our cardio section in the gym which includes incline and decline bikes, spin bikes, cross trainers, steppers, cardio, and treadmills. An extensive range of strength and conditioning equipment is available and the studio includes multiple TRX stations, steps, kettle bells, a full body pump set, mini paralettes and 1 prowler – everything needed to train to the max.
There are also studios for spin, yoga, pilates, circuits and strength and conditioning classes.
Everything the Leisure Club has to offer adds another dimension to the experience of guests at The Johnstown Estate.
Guests and members can train on our variety of cardio machines in the gym. This includes incline and decline bikes, spin bikes, cross trainers, steppers, striders, and treadmills. An extensive range of strength and conditioning equipment is available and the studio includes multiple TRX stations, steps, kettle bells, a full body pump set, mini paralettes and prowler – everything needed to train to the max.
Classes include a mix of strength and conditioning or endurance. They span yoga, pilates, spin and circuits, and are scheduled across an outdoor training area and two class studios.
Our team is focused on progress for members and will develop a programme for development of strength, cardio or agility. Each member will have different training goals and histories, so tailored training is key. Add some encouragement, and hard work to that, and members will be pleasantly surprised. Personal training programmes are available.
Please note children under 16 are not permitted in the pool after 7pm and must be supervised by a responsible adult in the pool at all times. A maximum of 2 children under the age of 10 is permitted with one adult.
We advise that gym and pool areas close 30 minutes prior to the closing times noted above and all members are asked to be mindful of the need to vacate the club’s changing rooms before closing time.
All gym users must be 16 years of age or older.

Packages Terms & Conditions
Students must provide valid photographic identification
Child Membership is from age 2-15 and is only valid with a current adult membership
Children under the age of 2 years are complimentary with an adult membership
Children’s hours at the pool are strictly until 19:00 hours daily
Family Membership is charged per child at a rate relevant to the time period of the adults joining
Golden Years Membership is only applicable to those ages 55 years and over
Off Peak Membership Hours are strictly 09:00-17:00 hours Monday to Friday
Direct debit membership is a rolling contract and requires 30 days’ notice in writing before cancellation.
2 months membership must be paid at the start of any direct debit membership
The first direct debit: The next scheduled DD will be skipped and your first payment by DD will be taken the following month (eg) Join and pay first 2 months on the 26th of October at reception- your 1st DD will be taken 10th of December.
DD processing date is the 10th of each month
Children must be supervised by an adult in the pool at all times (max 2 children under 10 years old per adult)

Fitness Classes at The Johnstown Estate
We know that trying something new or returning after a long period can be intimidating. But don’t stress we are here to help. The Johnstown Estate Leisure club offers a safe environment, with expert instructors that cater for all levels of fitness and allow you to reach your full potential. In our 30,000 m² leisure club we have indoor studios and an outdoor studio that offer a range of fitness classes from spin and abs, to body pump and aqua classes. Our classes include a mix of strength and conditioning or endurance, in a safe non judgement zone. Our instructors are approachable and will help you with anything you need and guide you through the class.

A Resistance based fitness class targeting every muscle in the body. Great for improving muscle tone, increasing bone density and shaping up.
Jump on one of our bikes and start peddling! These classes provide an intense cardio workout while still catering to participants of all fitness levels. Our instructors will lead you through a challenging series of courses to maximize results. The best part is that you are in control of the resistance and speed allowing you to continuously progress forward from your current fitness level.
To tone all 360 degrees of your body. The workout rolls from exercise to exercise without a break using the different pieces of equipment so you never burn out one muscle group or get bored. Designed to strengthen the cardiovascular system, tone muscle, improve balance, flexibility, endurance and speed. Exercises can be modified to accommodate all fitness levels.
A low intensity fitness class performed with the swiss ball. Focusing on complete body workouts.
Consists of cardiovascular and resistance exercises performed with barbells and dumbbells in the water. This is Low intensity class which keeps impact to a minimum.
A tough fitness class done inside on the gym floor (functional area). Lots of Variation between resistance cardio and bodyweight movements performed in a fun but challenging way
Step and tone is a fitness class focused on exercise to music whilst incorporating resistance movements.
The focus of this class is to use resistance exercises to improve tone and strength in the Bum, Legs and tummy
Fitness Classes are easy to sign up to and you can book your class at your convenience through our online app. Our Classes require a minimum of 3 people and are 45 minutes long except when stated that they are 30 minutes.
Little swimmers can learn confidence in the water from as young as 4 months at The Swim Academy at The Johnstown Estate. Our academy structures its classes for all age groups from absolute beginners right up to ‘Rookie Lifeguard’ level for established swimmers who will learn some key life-saving techniques.
