Pitches

Our all-weather grass training pitches have been specifically designed to meet the needs of teams. With a sand based surface and 25 km of drainage lines underneath, the pitch has year-round, extremely efficient drainage. The pitches are meticulously maintained by our professional grounds staff.

Sport Facilities

Gym

We have over 40 screened-cardio machines in the gym. These include incline and decline bikes, spin bikes, cross trainers, steppers, striders, and treadmills. An extensive range of strength and conditioning equipment is available and the studio includes multiple TRX stations, steps, kettle bells, a full body pump set, mini paralettes and prowler – everything needed for professional athletes to train to their maximum.

Nutrition

High performing athletes need high performing nutrition. Our chefs work closely with the dietitians of winning teams and understand the impact of providing the right food, at the right time, in the right quantities.

Allergies and specific dietary requirements are not a problem and we provide private dining options, healthy snack tables and ready-to-go nutritional options for athletes on the move.

Accommodation

Teams have two accommodation options: the hotel or the lodges

In the hotel, there are rooms including double, twin, triple and suites. Each room offers tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, complimentary WiFi and a 49” HD LED TV with over 50 channels.

The lodges are ideal for training camps since they are self-contained duplexes of 1000 sq ft each. Each has a choice of two double bedrooms or a double and a twin room, plus ample dining and relaxing space downstairs, with a separate kitchen. Each has a 49” HD LED TV with over 50 channels, iron and ironing board plus complimentary WiFi.

The lodges are centrally located between the hotel and the pitches.

“Every year around November time we travel to Johnstown House for a training camp for our junior rugby squads. We normally bring a group of between 60-90 players and 8-10 coaches for a 4-day camp. We found The Johnstown Estate to be the perfect setting for an intense preparation camp.

The player’s accommodation in the Apartments is perfect as it was spacious and gave the players personal space which was comfortable, modern and clean. The players enjoy the independence the apartments give them.

The training facilities were excellent. The pitch was in excellent condition. Adding to the professionalism of the camp was the availability of the pool and ice baths immediately after our sessions.

The staff were always available to assist with any needs we had at any time of the day and the boys were treated exceptionally well as if they were a fully professional team.
